The Democratic District Leader is the district’s elected representative to the Democratic Party. The District Leader serves as a liaison between the district’s democratic voters and democratic elected officials at the city, state, and federal levels. A good District Leader is an advocate for the community to the district’s elected officials, including its congress members, assembly members, and council members.
District Leaders also play a very important role in electing judges for New York’s Civil, Supreme and Surrogate Courts.
District Leaders often work with their local political clubs to coordinate political activity. Jenifer Rajkumar is a proud member of Downtown Independent Democrats – lower Manhattan’s largest and oldest progressive, reform Democratic organization— which unanimously endorsed her for District Leader.
Each district in New York state has 2 district leaders– a female and a male. Please vote Jenifer Rajkumar for Female District Leader as she brings in a new era of energy, community engagement, and reform in the district.
