Jenifer Rajkumar

I am delighted and honored to be your candidate for District Leader this year. I have met many of you on the street corner in front of Gateway Plaza, Village View, the Seaport or on the Lower East Side. You can count on me to be accessible to you in ways a district leader never has before– through town halls, new media, and a new informal advisory council for the neighborhood. You can count on me to be your powerful advocate, from the most local of issues to the larger values we hold dear… Read more >

Jenifer Rajkumar Speaks out to Keep Our Firehouses Open.

Shutting down fire stations is “absolutely the wrong decision,” said Jenifer Rajkumar, a 28-year-old attorney who lives in Gateway Plaza. “I think there is a great possibility more lives would be lost, more people would be harmed, and response times would increase.”

"Jenifer is Lower Manhattan's 'Beshert.' 'Beshert' in Yiddish means destiny. It is often used as an expression when finding one's soul mate. I'd like to anoint Jenifer as downtown's Beshert. In a sea of mediocrity, Jenifer stands out as a bright intelligent force. We need Jenifer to help Lower Manhattan." -Adam Silvera
